FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For most Family Law and Criminal Law cases, a retainer fee is generally required. This is a fee paid up front to retain the attorney. It means we will represent you, and not your spouse or opposing party. It also is the down-payment on what we will charge for your case. My hourly rate is $250 an hour, and I am paid AFTER work is done for you. Any funds that aren't earned, are returned to the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will have a phone consultation, either a brief one before setting up an in- person interview, or a full length phone consultation where we can discuss the whole case, if that is what the client would like. We can get enough information to guide the client, and hopefully answer any of their questions.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to 26 years of experience, I have worked as a prosecutor in local criminal courts, and made presentations in criminal defense seminars. I have also worked in the family law and adoption areas, including presenting lectures to high school students.
