FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I absolutely feel it is important to keep up with the current trends and techniques. I put aside money every month to use towards taking classes to learn something new. I have had some wonderful opportunites to study under the top cake designers of our time....Nicholas Lodge, Bronwen Weber, Kim Morrison, Norman Davis - these are just a few of them. I feel my business will always benefit from continuing my "cake" education!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I made a custom 6 tiered cake for the Wendy's Chili Open - 1000 servings of cake that I donated for the event. They support many of the charities that benefit children here in Central Ohio. It was a great event, and I am very proud to support them. I also donated to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank in their "Cakes for a Cause" event....we raised enought money to purchase 14,000 meals for the people who need it here in Central Ohio. I am very adamant about donating to causes that are close to home, and I am happy to do what I can to help out. It is so much more than making a cake!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise them to thoroughly check the baker out. Make sure that you can see their work. Make sure that they are accessible to you. Do your personalities work together? Is their kitchen licensed and inspected? How long have they been in business?
