FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like to start with an hourly rate. It forces me to be as accurate as I can be in a short amount of time. While a logo may only take hours, in order to become a great logo a few more hours might be required. There are some things that go on into the design process that you should not pass on to the customer.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Establishing what style of graphic that is required. Some like a cartoon, while others want a business look. In my years of preparing graphics I have found a lot of vendors to help me with my printing needs. If you just need the design part, I am able to provide the correct files for your printer of choice.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a thorough training in what can now be considered "old school". I did lettering by hand or rub-down, black and white graphics were scaled with a camera and I used an air-brush frequently. These days I mostly use Adobe products for all of that. I recently took a few classes in advanced Photoshop and was surprised at what I didn't know.
