- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Having worked for a number of businesses that were family run, I learned a lot. I had to wear many hats, not just the accounting one. This proved critical to transforming me into who I am today. I realized that I had a lot of knowledge and that there are others who just want to run the operations and get lost in the money side. I knew that I could help others do what my husband and I did. Create and run a successful small business.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Helping get set up for business. (i.e. getting tax id numbers, setting up their accounting software, creating a website, etc.) Answering questions about taxes. Providing guidance on setting up budgets, monitoring costs, processing payroll.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Helped a local driving school get up and running. Worked with them to decide what their business structure would be and helped them set up their website. They have been open less than 1 year and have already opened a second location.
