I customize my nutrition and fitness programs to meet the needs and goals for each client. My approach is not a "one size fits all" approach. I also combine exercise programs with my nutrition plans to optimize healthy results.
I am a full time nutrition and fitness professional; not a fitness specialist who dabbles in nutrition. I have been creating customized nutrition and fitness programs for over 26 years. I have an office in my home in northeast Ohio, for in-person nutrition consultations, and I also do distance sessions via phone or webcam. I will meet for in person sessions if it’s preferable and works for both of our schedules and can meet at your home or business if it's within my driving radius.
I am the only Ph.D in nutrition in the Ohio area, and one of the few in the country, in private practice with a heavy background in fitness. I’ve been a personal trainer since 1998 and include nutrition guidance with all my personal training programs. I'm a content expert and certified personal trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE) and a master instructor and certified sports nutritionist with the International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN). I create and teach workshops in the U.S. and Asia certifying fitness professionals in various aspects of sports nutrition. I custom tailor my sports nutrition programs to address weight loss, sports performance, and youth sports development.
I have had a lot of success with helping people live healthier lives via exercise and nutrition education. I work a lot with goal-setting and finding healthier behaviors to incorporate into your daily routine, as that is truly the only way to make permanent changes that positively impact your health. During your initial consultation, we will go through your diet and weight loss and gain histories. I will also gain an understanding of your schedule and past dietary struggles. I customize your eating program to fit within your busy lifestyle. This session is longer and usually takes around 60 minutes. As mentioned earlier, most of my sessions are virtual, unless you live in the Cleveland area. Having sessions this way is also more convenient for you as you don’t have to drive or take extra time out of your day. It’s a win-win! I have clientele all over the world and here locally. You can even be on business trip and not miss a session. We can talk nutrition and fitness from anywhere in the world!
After the initial nutrition consultation, we do follow-ups about every two weeks. They can be over the phone, Zoom, Face Time (or other webcam methods), email, internet messaging or in person; whatever works best for you!
The initial nutrition consultation, including your first meal and exercise plans, is $299, and includes two weeks of unlimited texting/email support. After that, nutrition follow-up memberships can be purchased monthly. I have monthly follow-up plans starting at $169 for up to two follow-ups per month, with unlimited online and text support. Most people greatly benefit from the bi-weekly (or more frequent) sessions as this helps them feel like they aren't just following a program - they are creating lifestyle changes that are specific to their own needs and wants.
While I don’t currently accept insurance, I have many patients that use their flex- or health-spending accounts to pay for my services. I accept all credit cards, checks, and cash.
If you’re interested in only personal training, I can provide you several options:
— We can do remote video sessions in real time. I train you just like an in-person session; only you don't have to leave your home. I can work with whatever equipment you have; even if you don't have any equipment at all!
— After the pandemic subsides, I can train you at your location, if it’s within my driving radius (I can bring equipment);
My prices for personal training are $95 each if you purchase 5 or more sessions at a time. Just to try my personal training services out, the first session is only $75. And all of my personal training packages include nutritional guidance and I give my personal training clients discounts on any customized nutritional services.
