Introduction: To me, a home's interior should be a reflection of the experiences, energy, loves, history, hobbies, and tastes of the people who live there. It truly is an intimate representation of the occupants. As a designer, there is nothing more rewarding than creating an overall harmonic design by combining the needs and wants of the client with beautiful, universal design. In order to inject life into any design, it is important to demonstrate to the client how to recognize and integrate their personality into the overall design not only through collectibles, furniture or artwork, but also through the use of color, pattern, texture, light and form. I provide interior design and decorating services, including consulting, planning, designs, 2-D and 3-D layouts, color designs, decorating, budgeting, furniture, and decor. credentials: B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in design from York University, Toronto, Canada, 1989 M.A. Art History, Bowling Green State University, current New York Institute of Art and Design (NYIAD) Diploma in Interior Design, 2013 New York Institute of Art and Design (NYIAD) Award of Merit in Interior Design, 2013

Mary is a absolute joy to work with. She listens to your needs and wants. She then executes your vision flawlessly. I love the fact she takes into account your lifestyle and also works with furniture or items you already have. I cannot recommend her enough!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer a very reasonable flat rate, first time consultation fee where we will do a walk-through space review, discuss design ideas and discuss next step production and payment plans. I also provide a summary document of the consultation. I can project manage your entire redesign. We work with a team of great tradespeople.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) in design from York University, Toronto, Canada; New York Institute of Art and Design (NYIAD) Diploma in Interior Design; New York Institute of Art and Design (NYIAD) Award of Merit in Interior Design, Best of Houzz 2017

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I had worked in the museum industry for over 18 years as an exhibition designer and project manager. As much as I enjoyed working in team environments, I became frustrated with the slow production progress and structural limitations. I come from a very entrepreneurial family and always wanted to start own my own business. I wanted to do something that was diversely creative and social. Interior Design was an area where I could use my design skills to launch into another visual field. We provide a variety of design services from color consultations to major home renovations in the Northwest Ohio area. We have a wonderful, skilled set of tradespeople who work for us. My goal is to always develop a final design space that not only incorporates my vision but is also a reflection of the client’s tastes and personality.
