Introduction: Hey there! I am so happy you stopped by! My name is Susan and I love nature, homemade pizza (yes, this is an obsession of mine!), having fun and, of course, photography! With me, connection, natural expression and genuine emotion is essential for truly captivating images. Posey-posey photography isn't really my thing and instead I prefer to coach and direct my clients' interactions in order to capture their true and authentic selves, personalities and, when capturing couples and families, their loving, silly and pure relational connections. Unlike many photographers, I am a FULL SERVICE photographer. To me, every individual is an amazing work of art! As such I am a firm believer in high quality PRINTED photographic art that my clients proudly displayed via canvases, framed artwork and heirloom albums. Because of this I work with my clients from our very first communication to discover their goals for their session, learning about their hobbies, personalities and their style so that we can work together to create beautiful artwork they will enjoy not only for a lifetime, but for their loved ones to treasure for generations to come. As a child of a mother who has dementia, I know just how truly important printed portraits and photo albums have been in helping her to hang on to the memories and connections of all of her loved ones past and present. Unlike many photographers, my pricing INCLUDES print products from a professional photo lab. My philosophy as a photographer is that actual tangible, physical prints are priceless. My commitment to all of my clients is to not only provide beautiful portraiture and artwork for your home, but also a joyful and memorable experience from beginning to end. If you are looking for a full-service photographer that will take the time to get to know you, learn about your session goals, help you plan what to wear, and capture photographs of genuine and authentic expressions and moments of you and your loved ones that you will want to proudly display in your home on canvases, framed prints, albums, etc. then I may be the photographer you are looking for! What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know my clients and their session goals by way of phone call, zoom session or in home consultation. I am a FULL SERVICE photographer, therefore I will work together with you to create gorgeous, tangible, heirloom quality artwork that you will be excited to proudly display and share with your loved ones.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an award-winning photographer that has had a passion for creating since I was first able to hold a Crayon. My journey in photography began when I took a introductory photography class offered by a local wedding photographer. I fell in love with photography and quickly sought out a local photography club which held monthly competitions. I competed in 3 different categories every month for 2 years, earning numerous awards. My first year in photography I earned the coveted "Novice of the Year Award" and my second year in photography I earned fifth place as "Photographer of the Year" beating out dozens of photographers that had been shooting many more years than myself. I have spent many countless hours learning the art of photography through practice, taking online classes about photography, lighting and photo editing.
