Introduction: Incredible images Patient and understanding Helpful I am a photographer for entrepreneurs, models, brides, grooms, dads, moms, high school seniors and grandparents who get incredible images! I both take pictures and help people use their own camera. As an instructor, I'm not boring! I have tons of energy and try my best to help people easily understand how to use their cameras and how to prepare for a shoot and even learn how to use their images for social media or design a layout of wall art for their home. My classes are mostly hands on! We get tons of practice. If you decide to take my five class course you get to practice about every other week for a couple months. This really helps people retain what they learn! People go away from my classes taking beautiful pictures of Paris, forests, and tropical vacations. They take pictures of newborns and soccer games and birthday parties. I love helping people remember what matters most! I love working with people and traveling to beautiful locations in addition to getting great pictures! I love figuring out different cameras unique features to help their owners understand how to use them. I especially love helping people who have limited experience even using technology finally figure out how to use their cameras or a photo editing program. Many times mothers, travelers, grandparents take my class because they don't want to forget about important places and people. I want to help people remember what matters most to them! I also love it when clients email me their favorite pictures and tell me how it was fun to work with me.

I took an introductory photography lesson with Sarah, and was impressed with her knowledge as well as her enthusiasm for sharing it. As a result, I signed up for her summer class series in 2012. I was planning a trip to the Alps and wanted to b able to use my new digital SLR to capture more sophisticated images than I had been able to do with a point-and-shoot digital. I loved the class! She found venues to highlight the lessons, and was able to instruct a number of people in a calm and focused manner. The best part came when I practiced my new knowledge on my trip -- I remember a specific scene I was trying to capture and spent a bit of time recalling Sarah's lessons - when I finally got the exact effect I was seeking I knew it was as a result of her class! I choose Desired focus photography for my engagement session in 2015. Sarah and I met one on one before any sessions to discuss ideas, styles, and asked questions to get to know me and my fianc. Sarah met us at the location of our choice and we had a great time. Sarah put in effort to get stunning photos of us and the scenery we were in. We booked Desired Focus Photography for our wedding. I chose DFP after seeing the beautiful bright wedding photos in Sarahs portfolio. She arrived to Parlors Lock to start the day with me as I got ready. Sarah doesnt miss a single detail. She gets the natural moments and stages creative detail shots. She was working away on capturing the whole day. In Feb. 2019 I booked a Personal branding session with Desired Focus Photography. This is a new idea to me and a great one as a business builder. The photos I have from our session has changed the face of my social media accounts and attracts new followers everyday without having to come up with new content of my own everyday. The high quality photos showing what i do is very attractive to the online public. Sarah has always taken the time to know what I want out of our sessions and had always had a very reasonable return time on photos. Not only is she punctual with photo return but she takes the time to view your photos with you. Sarah has an incredible personality and is a Delight to be around. I took a two-hour beginning camera class from Sarah and had a great time. She did a nice job explaining the different ways the settings work together to make a properly exposed picture, and she had a nice handout that I could take home with me. I also had a good amount of hands-on time to experiment with taking pictures with her feeedback on the results. It was a fun couple of hours! Would definitely do it again.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I decided to become a photographer when I was a teenager. Honestly, I wanted to find my niche, since my brothers and sisters are such talented artists. I found using a camera was an easy way to show people the beauty I saw around me. I took all the photography courses in my high school until they had to create classes as independent study and pay for me to take a college class. I really loved using my camera when I traveled to other countries. I worked freelance for the Cambridge News shooting sporting events and for friends shooting weddings. I finally opened my own business in 2008 featuring weddings and child sessions. Then in 2011, I started teaching people how to use their own cameras. I love teaching just as much as I love taking pictures!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I help people learn how to use their cameras, I shoot weddings and child, family, and high school senior sessions too. I also teach people how to edit their photos.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
When you hire an instructor, you want someone who is friendly, willing to help you learn what you want to learn, and go where you want to go.
