Q. Describe the most common types of jobs you do for your clients.
A. I create beautiful portraits. Brides, Seniors, Families, Children, Couples, Fashion Designers, Musicians, & Women. I focus on each client's needs to deliver what THEY need!
Q. Describe three recent jobs you've completed.
A. My 3 most recent jobs were a 20 year old female, a ballerina, & a fashion shoot! My adult female wanted beautiful portraits to boost her confidence after an abusive relationship. She brought in several outfits, I provided hair & make up, & coached her through the posing. She LOVES them! My 11 year old ballerina had just received her pointe shoes & wanted to highlight dance in her shoot. Not only do they love them, but her dance instructor has since contacted me for her website images. & The Fashion Designer provided models, hair & make up & styled the shoot. She uses her images for marketing & look books. Yes, I have an AMAZING job! ;)
Q. What advice do you have for a customer looking to hire a provider like you?
A. Research, research, research! Please, ask for referrals! And ask to see prints! With the ease of digital cameras there are 'pro photographers' popping up everywhere! Some can shoot well, and no their way around an editing program, but then have no idea what they're doing when it comes to printing! Have a look at this blog for more information on picking a good photographer! http://amyrophotography.com/blog/how-to-pick-a-good-photographer/
Q. If you were a customer, what do you wish you knew about your trade? Any inside secrets to share?
A. I just want clients to be educated. Everyone starts somewhere so there is nothing wrong with a beginner. But make sure your photographer knows what they are doing & knows how to provide beautiful, quality images that print correctly. Look through their portfolio.. how is the color, are they too dark, are they too bright, are they in focus? Research, research, research!
Q. What questions should a consumer ask to hire the right service professional?
A. Can I contact past clients? Can I see some actual prints from some of your sessions? Do you use a professional print lab? Do you have a contract? Again, do your research! There are way too many new photographers out there passing themselves off as professionals!
Q. What important information should buyers have thought through before seeking you out?
A. I am a quality & experience based business. I provide an artistic experience based on service & value & charge as such. Please know I am not a beginner that will shoot on the fly & provide a cd of images. I create memories for you to treasure & share.
Q. Why does your work stand out from others who do what you do?
A. As stated in my profile...
... "Jessica has an incredible passion for people and human emotion. Her artistic style is both nostalgic and beautifully romantic, blending dreams, memories, and images of the past...and infusing them into a modern generation"
I emotionally connect with my clients and I think it shows in the end results!
Q. What do you like most about your job?
A. I love allowing people to see themselves in a way that they never have before, and the way that makes them feel!
Q. What do you wish customers knew about you or your profession?
A. The time that we put in to our art. You can find digital photographers all over the internet offering to shoot a wedding for next to nothing and provide all images on disk. A great photographer puts way too much time in to it to be able to afford doing this. For example, to shoot and edit a wedding involves way more than most people think. A typical wedding shoot starts with 6-9 hours of shooting, many times requiring us to pay a second shooter to ensure none of the important moments are missed. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. After that can mean 4-6 weeks of full time editing to perfect all of the images, album design time, etc. There is SO much time involved in doing things right! I implore you to research before your big day!
