I posted the work request with photos of my chimney. I was given a quote of $199. I was securing a quote from a few other contractors and the pro was gracious to wait. A few days later, I received a message about obtaining a free estimate. I followed up that I had not heard from the other contractors and scheduled the cleaning.
The tech arrived a bit later than he was scheduled but that was fine. He informed me that I didn’t need the basic clean, but rather a deep clean which cost more than twice the quoted estimate. If I declined, I would still be charged the $69 service fee.
I was not happy. I felt kind of trapped. I’m not a chimney tech and I understand that what they were cleaning could be a potential fire hazard. i did not need to be lectured on the seriousness of chimney safety. I feel like based on the photos I sent, I should have received a more accurate estimate. I would have vetted other contractors.
I was told that the deep cleaning would take 45 minutes to an hour. 25 minutes later I received an invoice which included a 10% discount. It was still over $400.
I would not hire again and I’d recommend anyone considering these folks to confirm if you’re getting a free estimate or a service call for a fee. Also, make sure you confirm the accuracy of the estimate based on your specific job.

After evaluating the condition of your chimney, which presented buildup that could pose a safety risk, our technician recommended a deep cleaning to ensure proper function and fire safety. Of course, it was your choice to proceed, and as a courtesy, we applied a 10% discount to the final price.
We understand how important it is to feel confident in any home service, and we always strive to communicate clearly from start to finish. While our technician did confirm the appointment window and provided before-and-after photos, we regret that the experience still left you feeling dissatisfied.
