- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned an AS in Residential Building Technology from Sierra College. I have been in the trades for 19 yrs and counting. I also passed the state contractor's license test with 99% in supposedly record time.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father is an architect, grandpa was a plasterer and later a general contractor, my uncles are contractors and carpenters. I learned to read by watching my dad draw floor plans, I started helping clean up my uncle's jobsites at 10 yrs old, and started helping my other uncle frame houses at 15. I guess you could say its in my blood!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do your homework on your potential contractor. You can check out the CCB website to verify they are currently in good standing with insurances, licensing, and any potential past issues.
