Introduction: We analyze the music into easily understandable concepts and techniques, which promotes a strong foundation for your playing. I use Aaron Shearer's "Classic Guitar Technique" and Scott Tenant's "Pumping Nylon" as handbooks for my students along with other loose sheet materials. I ask my students to invest in a tuner and a metronome. The student will learn music theory, how to read music, aural skills (ear training), fingerboard techniques (slurs, hammer-ons, finger positioning, etc.), and musical phrasing. Every player is unique in style. Lessons are customized for each student depending on where you are and what you want to accomplish on the guitar. A typical lesson would involve healthy sitting and hand posture, picking techniques, arpeggios, scales, and playing through a piece of music together that will be taken home with you to practice for the following lesson. About me: I have been teaching guitar for 11 years. Experience & Education: member of the Ashland Guitar Quartet, Kabbage, Ha'ena, and solo gigs for weddings, wineries, restuarants and corporate events. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Music-Business from Southern Oregon University where I performed a senior recital on the guitar. My influences include: Francisco Tarrega, Barry Flanagan, J.S.
