FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Besides attending college at Pacific Northwest College of Art and getting my bachelors degree in Illustrating, I've taken addition courses in the children's book illustrating and publishing. Upon taking those classes, I've created 2 children's books myself and learned about the process of making book dummies and how to submit to publishing companies. I've also had continued success with showing and selling my paintings locally.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
By the age of 3, I would sit and draw the characters from my cartoons and tell everyone I wanted to be the ones who created the cartoons! I started my first painting classes when I was 7 and quickly became the go to artist during my high school days. I decided to pursue my career in Illustration when I went to college and learned more of what illustrating is all about. I've always loved children's books and coming up with new ideas making stories come to life. It's just something I've always been not just decided to become. :)
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
7 published coloring books and coloring cards with Pomegranate Kids. Plus my 2 self published books on Amazon.com and 2 more to come out later this year.
