FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For the most part, I get paid by commission from the travel suppliers. I DO get charged by Thumbtack for each lead, so please only contact me if you are sure you will be traveling. I'm a small business and it adds up quickly! Airlines don't pay commission so I do charge a service fee of $25/passenger for flights.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first step is a phone consultation (or via email if you prefer), where I learn about you, your wishes for your trip, your budget, and the time frame you are looking at. We can talk about ideas I think you might like and put together a rough framework. Next, I'll research a variety of travel suppliers that I know to be good and reliable, and create a day-by-day itinerary, including costs. You'll be able to open this in an app on your phone or computer, and it will include descriptions, photos, etc. After you review this itinerary, we will talk again and make revisions until everything is perfect for you! Before you depart, I will re-confirm every element of your trip (flights, hotels, car rentals, day trips, reservations, etc) for you. You will receive everything in hard-copy, as well as in the app (which can be downloaded so you have access even without an internet connection). I will also review all the practical travel aspects, like passport requirements, money exchange, necessary adaptors, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have traveled extensively my entire life and haven't stopped even while having six kids! I know all the tricks to make a trip memorable and low-stress (it's all in the planning!)
