FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes. Typically, I charge by the hour and always deliver more than clients expect. I'm not just a writer, but have a responsibility to consult and advise in such a way that will benefit my clients ultimate goals. I communicate all fees clearly, and advise if their will be additional fees, or if we need to renegotiate. I am available for retainer, which has been the case when I have written books for and with others.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Meet them and listen to them. Hear their goals and needs for written work. Fully understand timelines and my capability to deliver by deadline. Get to know them in a complimentary one-hour consult, on Skype, phone, or in person, to be able to effectively write in their voice, their tone and style. If I work for them I learn about their business; provide any research needed. Educate them about the writing process, the benefits of a professional writer, and online and offline marketing. Educate on the publishing industry and the pros and cons; tell it like it is, so their are no surprises. I provide a contract for large projects when I am on retainer, such as books, but explain hourly pay scale, quote, and bill for smaller projects.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a published author of several books, myriad of articles, and a speaker. I have continuous education in writing, marketing and publishing through national conferences and online webinars. I have past career experience in medicine, education, international adoption and corporate America, which enables me to write and work with all types of business clients, easily and efficiently.
