Best trainer I've ever worked with. Even helped me find my perfectly matched horse! Been riding with Eric for a few years now and very happy with the results.
She is working with my 8 yo granddaughter. Ann is very detailed in each step of horsemanship and riding. My granddaughter likes her as well.
Donohue Horsemanship is the absolute best place to learn Ray Hunt/ Buck Brannaman style natural horsemanship. Being a green rider when I first started, the Donohues showed me everything to start working safely and effectively with horses. This is a wonderful environment for a beginner or an advanced rider to hone their skills. I have been riding there for over three years now and have been exposed to everything from riding, roping, and cow working. Silverspade Ranch is a safe supportive environment for learning and making new friends. All the students and boarders are amazing and my wife and I have made many new lifelong friends. The Donohues are the only place you need to look if you want the best in horsemanship.
I am in my 30s and started riding lessons with Lorina about 3 months ago. She is so knowlegable and caring when it comes to horses. Lorina constantly educates me on the health and body of a horse, the propery cleaning and dressing, different riding termonlogy, and of course the proper way to ride. I had no idea when I first started how or why you hold the reins a certain way, or how most horses respond primarily to your body movement and legs. Its been truly awesome to be so educated and fall in love with a new hobby at this age. She is a book of knowledge and is very throughoug in making sure I understand what Im being taught and I really appreciate that. Nedeau is a super clean facility and very laid back. Everyone I have meet there has been extreamly friendly and welcoming. I take lessons with Tucker which is one of Lorinas horses and he is wonderful! Of course Im a little bias to him but all of her horses are super sweet and well trained. My initial goal was to just enjoy riding with the hopes of learning enough so one day I can own my own horse. I have no doubt that one day I will be ready to own my own horse thanks to Lorina!
Brittany is awesome! Very patient and expertly adapts to her students’ skill levels. She’s incredibly knowledgable and has a holistic approach to riding. I can’t recommend her enough!
Jessica is a wonderful teacher and my daughter responds well to her. There's been more progress in a few weeks than we saw in a few months at a different horse riding school. We are very happy with the Avalon Management team!
I have had nothing but good experiences withahna Bowman's training. I moved my half Arab Warmblood cross to her training two and a half years ago after no progress was being made in her training. Ahna introduced her to over fences and the horse found a job she loves. Now jumping 4 feet and last year won 7 National Championships at two national Arabian Horse Association shows. Ahna has also worked withy son Nate, who has mild cerebral palsy and can only ride dressage with one hand. Under Ahna's guidance, Nate qualified for the Oregon Dressage Society's state championships the first year of showing. Ahna knows how to work patiently with both horses and riders and helps them succeed. She is both a good dressage trainer as well as very knowledgable in training hunter/jumpers.
Wow! Not only did I discover that I COULD sit on and ride a horse, but I learned more than I could have imagined about horses from Karen Bragg. Clearly her ability to TEACH left a profound impression on me. She made it educational, comfortable and FUN!.
Harley and I have been taking lessons since Fall 10 and we have come leaps and bounds with only a few real leaps and bounds involved. HAHA. My horse and I are more engaged with each other. I embrace natural horsemanship and the ground work transfers to the riding. Having to ride once a week no matter what really helps. I reccommend Rebekah heartily.
The first thing I noticed about Elizabeth is her passion for horses and helping people connect with them. I found her to be a talented teacher as well. Always clear, patient, encouraging, building one principal on the foundation of the last. Continually testing my comfort zone without ever expecting too much or giving me more than I could handle. I was constantly inspired by her confidence in me, which in turn built my confidence in myself. And she's fun to be around too so lessons never seemed like work! :-) After only riding horses for a few months, I owe her a great big "Thank you!!" each and every of the countess times someone has complimented me saying "I thought you've been riding for years. I had no idea you've just started." So here it is... Thank you Elizabeth! You're awesome to work with!
This place is wonderful!! My daughter has epilepsy, ADHD and a blood disorder and is prone to being stressed and scared. But she just loves horses but was always afraid to get to close to them. I scheduled a class with Maria hoping for the best, to help her be a part of something that is therapeutic and amazing (which I always found horses themselves to be) and her experience was nothing short of outstanding. Maria went slow with her during her first lesson and was patient and kind and amazing! She went my daughters pace and Clara (my little girl) was so comfortable with Maria that she even got on the horse "Lenny" and sat there for a while!! Maria didn't push her to walk the horse she just let her sit there while smiling at my daughter and making small talk. I was so shocked and was almost in tears. The smile on my daughters face I'll never forget. My daughter goes almost weekly now for lessons with Maria as does my son Collin (age 13). My son loves riding and loves just being at the barn. And I can speak first hand with a child who has such stress in her life through medical experiences that this place is absolutely amazing.

We offer a fun, safe environment where you can learn horseback riding! At the Horse Sense Riding School, we offer private and small group horseback riding lessons. We love working with students of all ages, whether you are a new student or returning to riding as an adult. In our lessons, you or your child will learn techniques and skills from many different riding styles, and develop strong horsemanship skills. We believe that each rider has different goals and skills, and we design our lesson plans to meet those individual needs. We strive to create a safe and positive environment for learning. Lease options are also available. Our senior horses have come to us as rescues or unwanted horses, and we have re-schooled them to provide the safest and most enjoyable experience possible - while still offering some challenge to more experienced riders. We are committed to providing our horses with forever homes. We have special programs for riders with disabilities, low income families, at risk youth and seniors. We also offer a work exchange program for adult riders seeking more affordable riding options.
I have a life long passion for teaching and have over 15 years experience teaching all levels of riders. I have competed horses at a national level in several disciplines so I can offer that show experience to my students. I also grew up riding in a canyon so I love teaching people how to trail ride safely. My kind one on one attention to my students sets me apart from many instructors who expect students to just do as they say. I know I am a great riding instructor because I see my students improve each lesson and they give me great feedback and ask great questions if they don't understand something. I take my students success personally in a good way. If my students are not progressing then I need to improve my teaching skills and style.
