FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Discounts: A discount of 10% is offered to certified, active foster parents with foster children in their care. In some cases, a discount of 10% may be available for charity events at the Artist's discretion. Painting: $75 - $100 per hour with a two hour minimum. The hourly rate depends on event type/demands. For instance, private parties such as birthdays are generally billed at $75/hr, whereas larger “free to the public” type events will be billed at the higher rate of $100/hr. Artist can paint approximately 5-20 faces per hour depending on the intricacy of the designs. Be sure to book your time accordingly to avoid leaving anyone out. Please do not ask that the artist disappoint guests due to lack of time booked. In the event that there is another event after yours, it may not be possible to stay later than contracted. Any amount of time in excess of the contracted duration will be charged in 30 minute increments at $40 per half hour. Client agrees to pay for total contacted time plus any additional time, even if the even begins later than the designated start time. Deposit: A non-refundable 50% deposit of the total estimated cost of the event is due 14 days prior to the event. The remaining 50% as well as any additional charges are due the day of the event. Booked times are only guaranteed if deposit was paid, and the date is not secured until the deposit clears. Travel/Setup/Other: In the event that a deposit check is returned, the booking date cannot be held until a cash deposit is received. Additionally, there will be a $30 returned check fee. Travel fees apply when the event is more that 30 minutes from Medford as a flat fee of $15 per 30 minutes of travel time. Depending on the event, there may be a charge for lengthy or difficult set-up, which may cost an additional $30 fee. Parking fees must be paid to the artist. PARKING Please leave a space open as near to the location where Artist will be working for ease of setup/take down. Client will reimburse Artist for any parking fees. If a parking permit is required, this must be received as part of the deposit. Please specify any unusual requirements above. INDOOR SETUP Artist asks for access to the event location at least 30 minutes prior to the starting time. Less time will be necessary if Client is providing table, chairs, and water. A minimum of a 6'x6' space is requested. Please ensure that there is adequate lighting in the work space. OUTDOOR SETUP Artist asks for access to the event location at least 30 minutes prior to the starting time; longer if a full outdoor set up is necessary. A 10'x10' work space is necessary for a pop-up tent. Please ensure that the working space is level, well lit, and as dry as possible. Artist requests access to restroom facilities and somewhere to dispose of used paint water. WEATHER While the artist does have a pop-up tent, for the comfort of your guests and the artist, the client agrees to provide an area with protection from extreme temperatures, precipitation, and excessive wind. Client is responsible for providing an alternate indoor location in the event of inclement weather. Client agrees to pay the full, contracted price once the painter has arrived at the event location, even in the event of inclement weather. Refunds for inclement weather are not offered. BREAKS & STOP TIME Artist requires a paid break of 5 – 10 minutes every two hours with access to a restroom. If you have booked by the hour, it is Client's responsibility to prevent guests from requesting services after the contracted end time. Please book enough time to serve all your guests. LIMITATIONS If in public, Artist will not paint on any part of the body that is not legal to expose, or any place which the artist is not comfortable with. In additions, Artist will not paint any subject matter which may be deemed offensive. EXTREME ADVERSE WORKING CONDITIONS Artist reserves the right to cease work and leave the location in the event that working conditions are deemed adverse, inappropriate, unsafe, etc. These conditions include but are not limited to destructive, violent, or extreme behaviors of children, pets, or adults, as well as any illegal or otherwise dangerous conditions. CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS/RESCHEDULING In the event that the client needs to reschedule an event, please do so at least 7 days prior to the scheduled date and the artist will make every effort to meet the needs of the client. If the client requests to cancel an event, the deposit will not be refunded. However, it may be applied to a different date. There will be no refunds for inclement weather, so please secure an alternate, indoor location. There will be no refunds if Artist leaves the event due to adverse working conditions, as outlined above. Should the artist become ill or have to cancel for any other personal reason, Client's deposit will be refunded. LIABILITY STATEMENT Artist uses only FDA approved, cosmetic grade materials. Artist is not liable for allergic reaction to paints. People with skin allergies or sensitive skin should either refrain from participating, or have Artist perform a test patch at the beginning of the event. Client understands that darker paints may leave a faint stain, which must be removed with a mild soap. For safety reasons, Artist will not paint children under 2 years old or anyone who is unwilling. For sanitary reasons, Artist will not paint anyone who is or appears to be sick or suffering from cold sores, conjunctivitis, ringworm, sunburn, eczema, infections, or open wounds. Artist will use reasonable care, but is not responsible for damage to clothing or property. Client agrees to pay for any accidents or injuries caused by pets, guests, and/or any damage to Artist's equipment or supplies caused by pets, lawn sprinklers, or guests. Under no circumstances will Artist supervise children; their behavior and safety is the sole responsibility of Client/Parent.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Once you reach out to me, I will answer any questions you may have, confirm that your requested date is available, then send you a booking form. Once I receive the completed booking form and deposit, I will secure your place on the calendar.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been painting faces on a personal level for about 6 years. I have no formal face painting education, however, I have spent countless hours practicing, reading books, and watching videos from the industry's leading artists.
