FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer classes at a reduced rate for our small town. I also combine 10 or 20 lessons for a dollar less per class consecutively. Private lessons for individuals either at the studio or at their home would be more. I currently charge $8 per class; 10 for $7 per class; 20 for $6 per class; $ 15 for private lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
All yoga teachers registered with yoga alliance are required to take continuing education through workshops available in the area. I have attended two workshops in the last year.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always been fascinated with the works of the physical body and its correlation to our mental and spiritual health. Yoga combines these things in a unique type of physical workout that all ages and abilities can utilize. In my youthful 20s, I became a PE teacher. In my late 20s I tried nursing. As a mom, I felt the need for exercise to increase stamina and relieve mental/emotional stress. Later I discovered yoga because I took a chance to try something new to me. My first teacher was an ex-ballet instructor (ballet was a big love for me) who encouraged me to do something as physically satisfying but better for the anatomy than ballet. When I reached a milestone age marker, I decided to be something that I loved, to share it, rather than just be a consumer/receiver so that other people around me could enjoy the benefits that I have found in practicing yoga. I hope to continue my practice for the rest of my years.
