FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For bookkeeping/accounting projects I charge between $75 and $100/h - depending on the volume and complexity of the projects. For tax preparation I charge per form, but custom-made packages are available, the same as discounts, when bookkeeping or accounting are needed before the tax preparation, depending on the case. The basic fee for an individual tax return (federal + state) with 1 item of income and standard deduction is $175. There are additional fees on the top of the basic fee - depending on the forms needed and complexity.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer remote services but I can meet with the clients in my office as well - or travel to their location (rarely). I inform the Client about the documents needed for the project they want to get done. I briefly explain the process and sequence of steps. Prior years information is always needed, so, I invite my clients to discussion and provide them with a preliminary list containing the necessary documents for the tax preparation/accounting. Unless it is a simple one, very seldom I choose to finish a tax return on the spot. Usually, it takes about 2 weeks for a return of mid-level complexity to be completed. I prepare the returns in the order they come in. I work mainly in a paperless environment. I usually scan Client’s documents when we meet in my office, if that’s the case. Sometimes clients mail in their documents, but most of the time these are provided for me online.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I graduated from Economic Academy of Bucharest - Romania. I practiced accounting as a Chartered Accountant in Romania. I became an Enrolled Agent (able to practice and represent clients before the IRS) and LTC (Licensed Tax Consultant) with OR Board of Tax Practitioners in 2010
