FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Because every client and every project is unique, my fee can vary widely, depending on your goals, and the work that needs to be done to achieve them. In general, you should expect to spend somewhere between 5-10% of your total construction budget on design and/or engineering. I specialize in working with homeowners to figure out how they can make the most with what they have.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer two options to help us begin: 1. We can discuss your project by phone, e-mail, or at my office. Once I’ve learned more about your project, I will prepare a proposal for you. 2. We can start with an in-home consultation, prior to the preparation of a proposal. My fee for this is typically $500. After our meeting, I will follow up with a proposal for my services, and if you decide to proceed the initial fee paid will be applied to my overall fee.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a registered architect in the states of Oregon and Washington. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, and 20+ years of experience. I'm also a LEED Accredited Professional, and can help your project be more environmentally-friendly if that's one of your goals.
