I had Nicole produce formal invitations for an event framed with her calligraphy and her unique artistic nuance. While the party itself was a huge success, I think my guests almost enjoyed the receipt of their invitations more. She exceeded my expectations and added that layer of something special that I and my guests will remember.

I have hired Lion & Poppy to do a number of different projects for me over the years. This includes everything from business logos to wedding and baby shower invitations. She remains one of my favorite artists. The quality and creativity is always delightful and unsurpassed.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

As a Calligrapher and Illustrator I do a wide variety of creative work from simple pieces to larger work using various tools and media. Because of this, I've opted to leave the pricing in my profile blank as the template on Thumbtack doesn't reflect the variety of jobs vs. pricing that I offer. That's okay, let's have a conversation and see what I can do for you! I am dedicated to creating quality works that bring joy to my clients while keeping my prices competitive. Call today!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Tell me what you envision! We begin with a conversation where you tell me what it is that you want and I'll take notes of your lettering details or make sketches. Typically, I'll have a few questions for you ensuring that I get all the details. We agree on a price and a timeline and then I get to work! *Depending on the complexity of the job, with illustrations/logos I generally send preliminary sketches to discuss before creating your final work.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Awarded the California Scholarship for the Arts, 1993 ISOMATA School for the Arts in Idyllwild, California. Cal Arts (CSSSA Program), Los Angeles, California 1993 San Marcos College, SanDiego, California 1994-95 University of California Berkeley (Arts Extension), 1996-98 Berkeley City College, Berkeley, California 2000 Portland Community College, Portland, Oregon 2012-14
