I made that dream come true not just by hours of dedicated practice at my desk alone, but by joining my local calligraphy guild and working my way up to President. Now I have the the technical skills learned from practice, as well as the support and guidance of professional calligraphers to make sure my work is top-notch.

What a great experience with Katrina! I needed a calligrapher to write a quote that was meaningful to my friends on a piece of art I had purchased from Etsy as a wedding gift—all remotely, as we live in different states. From the very beginning, Katrina strove to help me figure out how the project would best work for me—even offering to help me learn how to write the quote myself if I preferred! (Though I wanted to leave that to the professional.) She was communicative and friendly, sending me drafts and editing when I requested. The finished project was lovelier than I could have envisioned, and it was clear she cares about this work and helping me achieve my vision in a comfortable way. I contacted Manic Italic to make a birthday card and wrapping for a good friend, in which I should also mention was on short notice. Not only did she put together a beautiful birthday card with very nice wrapping, but she actually got it to me a day earlier than anticipated! Great work and a total sweetheart. Highly recommended!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Send me an email outlining your project. My reply will ask you a ton of questions that allow me to accurately quote a price and time frame. Once we come to an agreement on that, stand back and get ready to be impressed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been studying calligraphy for 3 years, and now am the President of my local guild, The Portland Society for Calligraphy, which is the oldest, and largest calligraphy guild in the United States.
