I recently hired Joe and his team at Spartan Construction LLC to pour and finish an exposed aggregate concrete RV pad—approximately 717 square feet, or about 9.5 yards of concrete—and I’m satisfied with the results as expected.
From start to finish, their communication was excellent. Joe kept me informed every step of the way and made sure to check with me if anything needed clarification or if a decision had to be made before moving forward. That level of respect for the client’s preferences really stood out.
The crew did a great job prepping the site, compacting the gravel base properly, and installing rebar and tying it to my specific request. They also made thoughtful suggestions throughout the project—for example, improving the layout around the A/C unit area to ensure the concrete was level and had proper drainage. If something seemed over-engineered or unnecessary, they were upfront and offered practical, cost-conscious alternatives.
They were also careful not to overlook important finishing details like placing control joints where needed to ensure durability and reduce the risk of cracking.
I appreciated their flexibility in working with my schedule and their willingness to let me handle the form setup as well as the concrete and pump arrangements. They delivered solid, professional results while being easy to work with throughout the process.

Joe topped out the same day I called to look at work I thought needed to be done. He assured me that the job was very small and I could do myself. He sent me a list of materials I needed to do! I was impressed that:
#1 he showed up
#2 he was honest
#3 he was helpful in a resolution

This crew did a ~600 sq ft concrete patio in my backyard to replace a smaller worn out wooden deck and it looks great! They followed the layout and measurements of the pad exactly as I had provided. They also dug some last minute holes that will be the footings for a patio cover. Every time I came outside to mention something new or discuss any concerns, they took care of it no problem. Very friendly and hard workers!!! Would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

The job started off on the right foot, but soon my job was slowed down by over a week by the owner getting larger jobs and not finishing my project. Paid the 50% deposit in good faith. Sold me on doing additional work, then made other jobs a priority while he was running out doing estimates. Then asked for the balance due when the job wasn’t even half way completed. I’m left with sloppy masonry that needs to be redone. This is due to him sending guys at almost sundown to work in the dark, and also demo’d materials in front of my home. Not to mention.
