Rachael Brown's Private Dance Lessons

Introduction: Are you looking to refine your dance technique and skills? Are you preparing for an audition to be in a show or on a dance team? Do you want some extra help to propel you to the next level? Private lessons may be your answer! I have more than 15 years of performing arts education experience, and I specialize in teaching jazz, tap and contemporary to students age six through adults. Whatever your dance goals are, I can help! Whether you need one private lesson or a series, I will work with you individually to create a plan that is right for you. As a choreographer, I am also available to create solo or group numbers for an audition or show. Below is more about me. Rachael Brown grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and started dancing at the age of three, studying ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and modern. At the age of 18, she won the Debbie Redfoot Award for the most promising dancer in the tri-state area. Rachael continued to study dance in Washington, DC at American University, where she graduated with an interdisciplinary degree in theatre and education, and performed and choreographed with groups such as Tappening and the Eldbrooke Artist Series. Upon moving to Portland, OR in 2005, she shifted her focus to teaching dance and running performing-arts-education programs. She is a founding member of the local contemporary dance company, PDX Dance Collective, and is a member of the Skylark Tappers.
