Private Guitar Lessons:
We offer lessons custom tailored to fit your goals and learning style in genres ranging from pop to rock, country to folk, and from blues to metal. Our lesson structure will be tuned specifically to your needs and strengths in order to bring you that much closer to the confident guitarist you want to be. No one is born a guitar prodigy, but we will help you transform into a better, more well-rounded player with our programs.
Adult Group Guitar Classes:
Are you looking for a fun and affordable way to begin playing guitar? Portland Guitar Academy is proud to offer group guitar classes specially designed for Adult Beginners. This enjoyable format is the perfect way to introduce yourself to the world of playing guitar! Class sizes are kept relatively small (between 4 and 10 students) to ensure that you will still receive as much personal attention and guidance as you require. You will learn complete guitar playing fundamentals and performance. You will be introduced to the secrets of how to effectively move forward with your playing and understanding. Most importantly you will have fun while learning how to play several real songs on your guitar!
Online/Remote Guitar Lessons:
Do you travel for work or live outside of the Portland, OR area? If so, we would still love to work with you! Sybil and the rest of the Portland Guitar faculty have put countless hours into perfecting their system of online guitar instruction. We have a seemingly endless library of practice resources to fuel your practice and you'll be able to connect with other engaged students in the online Portland Guitar community. There has never been a better time to benefit from the convenience and efficiency that modern technology adds to online guitar instruction.
Bass Guitar Lessons
Bass makes the audience dance, tap their feet, and nod their heads as they agree in unison that this is a great song! Based upon your personal goals, you will receive customized one-on-one instruction and coaching that will make you into a bass player who can confidently improvise and establish a perfect groove. The bass builds the foundation upon which a song is played, and it plays the incredibly important role of helping to establish the root, tempo and rhythm of a song. We will work with you to learn and explore variations of groove skeletons as we simultaneously develop an understanding of what the bass guitar technically does for a song in terms of music theory.
