Thanks so much Sophie! So glad we could assist you and calm your nerves before the big trip by making sure everything you needed for your front brakes was taken care of to be safe on the road. Due to it being an immediate safety issue and of urgency, we were happy to respond promptly and even overnight to get you an initial quote for what a disassembly for deeper inspection would be, so we could schedule an inspection and service right away and identify during disassembly if any other further issues requiring other parts or labor would be needed for a complete and timely repair. After dissassembly it was then clear the issues to be able to give you an updated quote on what would address the issue in whole since the brakes ended up being compromised all the way to the calipers instead of just the regular pads and rotors being worn. We are glad you could be present for the process to have questions answered, details explained, and reassurance that all issues were addressed. It was good you brought it to us to have a thorough inspection during disassembly since they hadn't been serviced in such a long time, had such severe rust that needed to be cleaned away, and more than just the pads were needed to address the rotors status and the issue you were experiencing with the calipers being seized. We are so glad the calipers issue was addressed to have them unseized from the dangerous position they were stuck in and then replaced to be able to allow the pads and rotors to be replaced as well, to fully address the brake issues you were experiencing.
