I'm am completely satisfied with the vocal training I am recieving. I have never had lessons before and was very nervous when I arrived, but Alisdair worked very well with me and made me feel very comfortable. He works very well with beginners and teaches you more then just how to sing, but the foundations of music as well. I don't just consider him my teacher, but also my friend. If you're a beginner looking for a great vocal coach, then he is the perfect choice. Even if you have previous experience, he is a great choice and can offer you so much.

Kris is an excellent teacher and instructor. He caters each lesson to my abilities and interests. He explains music theory concepts clearly and follows up each lesson with an emailed summary of what was taught. He's willing to work with you at your pace. My skills as a pianist and song writer have improved significantly since I began working with Kris.

Kyle has been teaching my 11 year old son piano and music theory. What I really appreciate about Kyle is his ability to really listen and figure out what his students need. My son has a natural ear for music and Kyle has been not only able to successfully motivate my son to practice and enjoy the experience of music, but to also give him the taste of the structure and ideas behind many different genres. Kyle is talented enough to train students on the basics but he goes far beyond the traditional sense of teach music (scales, technical hand positions). He is giving my son the tools to create music in his own way for years to come. Kyle is an amazing value for any student and I'd recommend him to anyone considering improving their musical experience.

Evan is a gem of a teacher and particularly well suited to teaching music to children. He has developed a personable student-centered approach to begin with the student’s interest in a particular piece of music then teaches skills and concepts through this music. My 9 year old grandson loves this as he gets to choose. Evan is a skilled musician who is consistently positive, upbeat, and encouraging. He’s an effective, thoughtful teacher who sets his students up for success.

My name is Jesse Lee Falls , I am a singer songwriter who has been signed to Bent Beat Productions since July 2012. Dave Beatty and Jozi Bentley have been invaluable team members for my music. Their knowledge of business, marketing and song production has given my music the opportunity to flourish in an industry that seems almost impossible to break into. It has been an absolute pleasure to have people on my side who actually care about my product and is willing to help get the product out on the market. I think most musicians who have recorded an album in a studio are use to the fact that once you have paid the studio for the time and the product there is no more interest in helping get that product out to the masses. It is all left up to the artist or band to push the product themselves. Signing to this publishing deal with Bent Beat was the best thing I could have done for myself and my music because they have a 50% invested interest in my business where as someone who has no invested interest will only do for you what they are contracted to do and nothing more. I think what musicians strive for the most is to be validated by professionals because if the pro's don't believe in your music then whats the point to keep moving forward.

Aaron is an incredibly talented musician, and more importantly a gifted teacher. He works hard to determine a students needs and goals and create a lesson framework specific to those needs. He has taken what little I already knew and helped me build upon it very rapidly. I have made more progress than I though possible in the short time we have worked together. He has a gift for determining what will keep you motivated and excited about the learning process. If you want to sit around learning scales until your fingers bleed you can probably do that anywhere. If you want a brilliant and intuitive teacher who can truly help you grow as a musician as well as an appreciator of music... call Aaron. I really can't say enough good things about him.

Claire took voice and piano from Nyssa for 7 years and has excelled at both. Nyssa is especially good with young students, very encouraging and patient! Claire learned cords early on making it easy for her to sing and play, or to accompany others. Nyssa not only taught her the skills, but how to enjoy and use those skills to glorify God. We highly recommend Nyssa as a music teacher!

Alex is a great music teacher. My son takes string bass lessons from him. He is able to work basic mechanics and theory into his instruction and still have the lesson be enjoyable. Alex is a calm and patient teacher. It's also inspirational to be able to go see him perform live.

My Daughter went from never playing an instrument to being proficient on her trumpet in 8 months. Her band teacher is so impressed. Much of her understanding of music comes from her voice and trumpet lessons with Ms. Valardi. She is branching out into piano this summer and has even attempted to write her own solo. A music teacher that understands the excitement of a student and balances that with foundation is a wonderful thing to find. Ms Valardi is just that.

Casey is easily the most knowledgeable musician I've ever met. He related elements of music of the old to new and gave me more insight. Was always on time, I never sat down for a minute without learning something new. I've positively progressed my playing substantially since having lessons with Casey. I have had other lessons and can confidentially say I've never had a more thourough and wholesome experience with any other teacher. I would personally recommend Casey to any of my friends and family wishing to get the most out of their courses.

I've been taking lessons with Nick for about a year, and all I can say is, wow. I didn't expect to get this good at guitar when we started. Nick is not only a great guitarist, but a great teacher and knows how to distill all of the theory stuff down into bit sized chunks I can handle. Now, I'm starting to improvise and write some songs of my own too. Nick is relatable and knows how to make the lessons fun! Without a doubt, I'd recommend him to any level of guitar student.

Sarah is an amazing singer, I have looked up to her since high school, many years ago. She has done great work from slaying karaoke, leading choir, and performing with me in Dirty Revival. When I have asked her about singing methods, she has given me great advice and is knowledgeable on the topic. It is a pleasure to work with her musically!

Danny is a gifted songwriter with a silvery voice and strong guitar chops. He's personable and encouraging and he energizes you to do your best work. Since working with Danny, I have felt inspired to pursue avenues of music I never considered before. I've seen him perform several times; it's clear that he's going places and-- here's the most amazing part-- he wants us to go with him! I am lucky to work with Danny. Anyone in need of fun, insightful instruction should schedule something with him immediately!

Weekly piano lessons; Lindsay gave me the ability to choose my own music to play while giving suggestions based on what I'd previously played, and lessons are structured around what I am currently interested in learning, with the additional support of more structured lessons. Lesson times mostly flexible as well. Good choice for any level at any age!

      About

Music lessons with Keith Abbott: Music education for all ages and all levels- beginner to advanced. Providing Lessons at Portland Music Company and other locations. Instruments: Drums and Percussion Electric Guitar Acoustic Guitar Bass Ukulele Piano Saxophone Didgeridoo Djembe and Hand Drums Experience: I have been studying and performing music for twenty six years. I have been providing professional music education in the Portland-Vancouver area for over fifteen years. Before going independent, I taught at Beacocks Music Co in Vancouver, Washington for ten years. I have been working professionally on stage and in the recording studio for twenty years. Many of my former students have gone on to have great achievements. People I have educated have won full scholarships, become professional musicians, gotten involved in the music community, or just learned an instrument to their satisfaction. Thesis: I believe that everyone can play music! It is just a matter of finding the right approach. I assess the way an individual learns and then develop systems to achieve success. Biography: After just a couple years of playing music, I began to teach my friends how to play. I seemed to have a knack for playing music and an inclination for helping others. I began learning on the saxophone in 5th grade at school. At the same time, I taught myself to play guitar. Within a few years, I was playing in bands and had added drums, bass, and piano to my repertoire. I started composing and recording music by the time I was twelve years old. When I completed high school, I went straight to the stage playing in working bands. In 2002 I moved to the Northwest and soon established myself as a professional musician and educator. Currently I am involved in music education, performance, live audio, songwriting, Performance, Music Technology, Engineering and Production. So Let's get the music flowing!
