My instructor is very nice and professional. Being my first time ever taking a voice lesson, I was pretty nervous. However, My the instructor made me at ease right away.Sep 30, 2019Verified
I never thought in a million years that I would be able to build a voice good enough to sing with, without making people cringe. Starting from absolute 0 knowledge, I have made great leaps in not only my pitch but also the quality, clarity, strength and range of my voice within a very short period of time. Next on the list is WOWING! people with the voice that I have practiced so hard to obtain.Nov 4, 2018Verified
It's so great to have someone with this level of professionalism and talent right here in Portland. So glad we met up and I look forward to working with him again. Highly recommendFeb 15, 2018Verified
Jesse's techniques and guidance have significanly pushed me toward meeting my personal goals as a vocalist. After only a few weeks of practicing what he teaches and attending weekly lessons, I am hitting notes I couldn't hit before, singing more comfortably, and starting to really like the sound of my voice! I'm excited to see how my voice will progress moving forward with his lessons. Would strongly recommend to anyone who is interested in learning how to sing at any level. -Jaron C.Apr 19, 2018Verified
We bought voice lessons for our son-in-law who has never sung before. He loves his lessons! We heard Jesse in concert. He sang an hour-long series of broadway hits (one of his many genres). He has a wonderful voice and range and is a great pianist. Really relates well to audiences and studentsNov 21, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Prices with Jesse are $80 per each individual hour lesson, or $70 if you pay monthly ($280 for 4). Clients paying monthly will be responsible for setting up make-ups for lessons that they cancel with 24 hours notice, and after the first payment, will pay every 4th lesson. No need to make up for major holiday weeks, unless desired. For half-hours, it works the same way, but for $40 individual / $35 ($140 for 4) monthly. Lessons canceled under 24 hours will be charged. No refunds. Other AAS teachers have the same guidelines, but range from $35 - $60 per hour.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? We'll start with a free phone consultation, to decide which teacher will be the best fit. The first lesson will begin with a system of exercises that I’ve culled and developed over the years, focusing on breathing, release of tension, and mixture of head and chest voices. From there, we work on whatever music you choose. The technique goes hand in hand with any style of singing. All Coaches use the same structure.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Jesse - Bachelor of Music-Vocal Performance Manhattan School of Music 2009.
