Introduction: I am a Bellingham, Washington based lifestyle & wedding photographer. For weddings & portraits - my work often tries to encapsulate the simplicity and beauty of any given moment. For brands & products - I listen openly and work with each specific team to bring to live the feeling and identity they wish to evoke for their project. After receiving a journalism degree from the University of New Hampshire, I continued on to work in several multi-media projects in Connecticut, New York, New Hampshire, Oregon and India. I'm open to bookings both locally and around the country. I additionally finished my 200/hr Yoga Alliance Certification in 2013. An eye towards alignment & a steady practice in mindfulness helps in all aspects of photography. In terms of final edits, I tend to give more. I want my clients to feel like they got everything they could from a shoot! I love meeting people. It's a strange and wonderful opportunity to connect with strangers and show them how beautiful they are! I have photographed events, weddings, yoga teachers, brands, products, musicians, recording sessions, concerts, festivals, families, professionals - you name it. Not many jobs give you a snippet into the lives of others the way photography does. It's also gotten me up at the crack of dawn, summiting mountains, to capture the beauty of the natural world. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Lauren was the first photographer I worked with to document yoga postures for my portfolio; and she will be the only one I ever work with, without a doubt. She is kind and professional, and I always feel so at ease when we work together; her work ethic is impeccable. I trust her creative judgment so completely that I feel confident in doing every photoshoot sans make-up - I know she's going to make me look amazing! It's such a shame that she lives so far from me (because she's a gem, and hanging out with her is the best part about our work!), but I can't wait to see her next year when she does me the honor of photographing my wedding!

I hired Lauren to take family photos and am so happy with the results. Her warm, inviting presence instantly put us at ease (an added bonus for my camera-shy husband). And she’s great with kids... My toddler was so squirmy during the photo shoot but Lauren managed to get some beautiful shots while still making it a fun and enjoyable experience. The photos are so lovely and really capture the spirit of our family.

So happy Lauren Howland was recommended to us for shooting our new website. We shot all of our new inventory in the late afternoon, with 3 models in Oregon. She was professional, warm and comfortable to work with. She was especially able to communicate great direction (**especially recommended if you need some warming to the camera lens**). I actually have a few friends I've been begging to model clothing for us - and they agreed if Lauren was the photographer. It's shown in her work, but what I was most impressed with, and what I feel a review is best used for - is her professionalism. FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to chat via phone, email or in person to meet and gain a better understanding of what the client is looking for before we have our shoot. After the photoshoot, turn-around for photos is usually 2 weeks (with the exception of weddings!). I often try to give as many photos as possible so the client has several options to choose from.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
- Four Year Journalism Degree - 200/hr Licensed Yoga Teacher - 5+ years of content creation & digital marketing experience - 6+ years of social strategy experience
