Introduction: We are a historic European martial arts school offering instruction in empty-hand self-defense and a variety of historic European weapon systems.
We do rapier, long swords, sabre, pole arms and bartitsu. The various historic martial arts systems we teach are researched from original historical source material over many years. We teach the historical and philosophical background of these systems as well as the physical discipline.
We also are members of A.K.A.N.A. and teach twice weekly karate classes. We consider our Bartitsu/self-defense class to compliment this training.

Jeff is a great sabre teacher. I have learned a lot from him and look forward to my continue education with both small sword and sabre. Jeff is patient, kind, does not shame or yell, either. He's a really great person to work with.

Jeff is an excellent martial arts teacher. He takes a concept, like punching or rapier and shows it many ways. He takes a hands on approach and helps students hold the sword.
During the last rapier class Jeff moved a little quickly through some material that was very new to some other folks. If he could slow down on explaining some rapier drills, that might be good. But, Jeff makes a difference. I use what I learn in class about martial arts, spatial awareness, and strategy during my day. I enjoy going to Academia Duellatoria

Jeff has been getting me started on sabre training. He and the Academia Duellatoria team have also created a few public area events which I have attended over the last year. Jeff brings his considerable knowledge, sense of fun, delightful candor, and immense patience with him in all that he does.
