- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Oregon requires 30 hours of continuing education each year to keep your license. Tax laws are very complex, I usually do 50 to 60 hours of education each year to keep abreast of the ever changing tax laws. I belong to the Oregon Association of Tax Consultants. I am the treasure of the Portland Chapter of this organization.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
A friend and I were on the Willamette River, playing on the waverunner. We stopped on a sandy beach and she asked me if I have ever thought of owning my own business. I said yes to her question. Without her I would still be dreaming of owning my own business. Her encouragement gave me the strength to go for it. This I am very grateful for.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
A professional who will answer all your questions. One who has time to explain your tax return with you.
