About
In my teaching I draw upon both my thorough classical training and my experience as an eclectic freelance folk and improvising musician. I can provide students with a very solid technique that allows for fluidity and freedom in playing. I like to give students repertoire that inspires them and feels fulfilling to them, while providing technical work to continue challenging and furthering their musical ability. Helping people create their very own sound, helping them reach their musical goals, seeing the fulfilment this brings. I also just love the process of teaching, the learning, the sharing and the laughs.

I've been working with Mirabai for about 3 months now and having a blast. I'm excited to practice when I'm home and she gives me wonderful, useful, and helpful advice to keep me moving forward and continue learning. Each lesson is a joy, and what she has me learning is technical, varied, and fun! I picked up the violin to enjoy and appreciate it and that's exactly what I'm doing. My experience has been challenging but not intimidating, with all of the tools to help me get better each week.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I have a special rate for students who pay ahead for a whole month of weekly lessons. For students who are unable to commit to weekly lessons, I charge my casual lesson rate.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My own continuing musical endeavours are always informing the work I do with my students. I also attend music teachers' meetings and am always keeping an eye on music education workshops to help keep ideas fresh.
