My experience at Oxiliary was amazing. Rory was the first recording technician I’ve worked with and the process was pretty quick and painless. He answered all the questions I had; he is very knowledgeable about recording and producing but also about the next step of publishing. The space is very inviting and comfortable. 10/10 will work with Rory again.

We have been working with Ox for over a decade and each project gets better. His turn around time and quality is exceptional.

Rory, who owns and managed Oxiliary Studios, is extremely professional and the only hip-hop engineer in Central Oregon that I would invest in. I've been working with him for over a ten years and he has never let me down from a quality, professionalism, responsiveness, or punctuality standpoint. If you know what you want your music to sound like going into the recording, he will help you hit that goal. If you don't, then be honest and open-minded and give examples of the styles you're looking for. For hip-hop music, you won't find another for-hire engineer in Central Oregon, and certainly not a more professional environment. I'm proud of the music we've created and the difference he's made in shaping the music culture in Bend and beyond.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

We offer very competitive rates and love to try and work with any budget. Feel free to contact us about promos and current discount codes when booking online.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

It's great to sit down with the artist and listen to any demos they might have. Listen to where they want to take their music professionally. Then, work on a game plan for meeting those goals.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Back in 2006, I went to The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences. This is a technical school outside Phoenix, AZ that is dedicated to Audio Engineering and Production. After completing the curriculum at CRAS, I started working at RAGE Films in Bend, OR. There, for the next 3-4 years, I worked licensing soundtracks, mixing sound beds, location audio and mastering for four international award winning video releases. For the last decade I have recorded countless Rock and Hip Hop demos and 20 full release albums. A more detailed list can be seen on our website in the portfolio section.
