Introduction: We have more than twenty years experience providing bookkeeping services for small businesses: QuickBooks setup, accounts receivables, payables, bank reconciliations, journal entries, financials and budgeting. We also help tutor bookkeepers in bookkeeping and QuickBooks, so they can become more proficient in the field. We are licensed and certified through NACPB and are members of both NACPB and AIPB. We also have background clearances on file. I enjoy helping clients get their books in order. I also find tutoring as a rewarding experience!

Barbara was very professional and completed the task in a timely manner. She responded quickly when I reached out to her several times with a positive attitude. She has great organizational skill and her bookkeeping clearly delineated the finances. I would recommend her without hesitation.

Accounting

I contacted Thumb Tack for a bookkeeper, and Barbara responded very quickly, with a reasonable rate. After arranging a meeting at hour home office ,we recognized that Barbara is a quick thinker and is very knowledgeable with QBs. I appreciate her no none sense approach when it comes to book keeping. For the inexperienced she has a special way of explaining aspects of QBs that make it easier to understand. She is helping us catch up on entries and will be training us to utilize more option in QBs. The new training will allow me more time to work in the field and less time in the office. Anyone considering hiring a Professional Bookkeeper should definitely contact Barbara. I always assumed I could not afford a professional ,I now realize I should have hire a professional years ago. Barbara, my wife and I Thank You for helping her get me caught up, on entries and for the future training . My wife already has a full time office job, this will free up her up to enjoy more weekends. It will also give me more time in the field to increase my gross profit. Sincerely, Rich Weidner/ Ally Handyman Services, LLC

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My pricing structure is based on local vs. distance for travelling from my home office. If I can perform the work remotely, I charge a lower rate. Otherwise, my fee is the same regardless if I am at the client's workplace weekly, semi-monthly/biweekly, or monthly. Also, I'm different then other bookkeepers, in which I don't bill my clients for mileage! I am blessed that I get to do what I love when and where I get to do it! I don't believe in nickel and diming a person.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Usually I set up a meeting (at the clients office) with a potential client and perform the write up of what the client needs. The client has already received my pricing sheet, so they know what I charge. However, the write up helps the client and I to define what the job parameters are and what items are necessary for those parameters to be met.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been working in payroll and bookkeeping for over twenty years. I was a Payroll Tax Accountant for a major retailer, which started my career in payroll. Even though I enjoyed learning the complexities of payroll, it wasn't something I wanted to do on a constant basis. I went on to work for an accounting firm (a few actually) so I could learn the whole process from start to finish (bookkeeping/data entry-processing the tax returns).I am certified and licensed through the National Association of Certified Professional Bookkeepers and have to take continuing education to keep my certifications and licenses current.
