Drew did infact respond very quickly and accommodated my long wait time due to the fact I wasn’t closing on the home for 2 weeks. The job requested was removal of carpet and an abundance of tile and installion of pergo flooring throughout house and paint all walls except 3 bedrooms and bathrooms. Demo went very quickly. He gave me a 2 week estimated completion date which I know are just estimations but took roughly 3 and a half weeks. I was late to deliver flooring due to ordering special order flooring. I chose to supply the material expecting some sort of help regarding amount of materials or specifics materials needed, I did not receive that other than a quick walk through the house mentioning a few things needed. After demo, the work speed tapered down. I was only available to view work once a weekend due to working out of town. He sent me pictures of completion which was nice. Near the end he didn’t show up 2 days in a row due to an emergency job he wanted to do which seemed unfair to me since I had already paid for the job to be done. Upon final walk through he addressed the little things I didn’t like the best he could. After he was gone and I’m aware he’s at no responsibility to cover at this point I found other issues that just show poor craftmanship. The transitions between rooms are cut too short and the front door transition threshold was solved by putting caulking down. I googled how to lay pergo down to a front door and it is no where close to what he did. His employees broke some molding on removal which is expected in small amounts but I was charged to replace the molding and have it restained. I contancted other contractors to see if this was a common practice, it is absolutely not. I asked that the master and the living room be clear for furniture delivery and install on a certain date and there was debris left over in the living room and boxes of unused pergo left in the bedroom which my fiancé had to move or clean up herself for delivery. There was also left over cuts and molding pieces left in other rooms I removed myself after job was done. He asked to use my garage to work out of which was absolutely fine but the line was crossed when I had to sweep up the saw dust and such he had created in the cutting processes. His pricing is about the same as a few other contractors that I was in contact with. Over all I think drew himself is quite handy in the job he does himself but I don’t believe his employees are too skilled. If I were to hire him knowing the things I do now, I would have had to visit the home daily to see progress and find issues myself.
