FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As for my pricing I try to keep it simple. $50.00 per lesson as long as it doesn't go over one hour. For an hour and a half it is $75.00. If you do more than one lesson per week I offer a discount on the second lesson where the fee is $40.00 per hour. This can not be used as a second hour for just one lesson. It must be a different day to get this discount.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I do take lessons myself from time to time and I study courses online in teaching guitar.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Throughout my music career I have always helped those around me learn. In some cases I was on the other side of that equation. I always try to learn from those more skilled than I am. In both of these scenarios the idea that someone may need some help to learn is present. I started helping others out when I was just fourteen years old and have been doing it ever since. I started doing it professionally for money sometime in the mid to late 90's. It is rewarding to be able to pass along some of the lessons I have learned over the years to new players. I feel it helps keep the art of guitar playing alive and well. I think is a very good thing to teach children especially. It develops your mind as well as hand eye coordination. Music is very mathematical at times. I believe it is a gift that should be shared and it is also potentially a gift that will keep on giving for the rest of your life.
