FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start by finding out what it is that they are looking to have done on their property. We recognize their time and money is valuable and we want to the client to know that we want to help them save in at least one of those areas if not both. After we find out what our client wants we assess the property for free then give them the quote. We do offer one time, monthly, bi-weekly, and weekly options. We make our customers aware that the less amount of cuts per month the more it will cost due to the increased clean up involved. We have some clientele that only want us to weed eat, others that want to add edging their sidewalks, some hire us to cut their grass and do their shrub trimming twice a year. Whatever the customer wants done is how the quote is determined and if they do not want a certain feature, such as edging sidewalks, done every time but they will want it done in the future then we give them the cost up front so that when the time comes they just have to say, "go ahead and edge the sidewalks this week." Once we sign a customer up for work we figure out what day/time works best for us to mow then we take care of the rest. We welcome feed back from our customers. We want you to be happy with the work being done. Negative feedback is not fun to hear but we recognize, that is how we are going to be able to keep improving. We utilize social media and technology to stay in regular contact with our clientele. We also offer a chance for our clients to earn nice discounts through our referral program. Our motto is: "Let us take control of your lawn so that you can take more control of your time."
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been doing lawn care and some landscaping for 15 years. I worked for a lawn care company in Michigan and I was hired as a personal landscaper for a business owner for 5 years. I have been offered jobs in other states to be a landscaper but this is home for my family.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father owned four apartment complexes and he hired me to cut the lawns but he held me to a professionals standards. He walked the premises every Saturday when I completed my work and pointed out every little thing that I missed. Although, I dreaded the inspection process this set me up to being hired as a personal landscaper for a business owner when I became a teenager. I was able to work for that business owner for five years and that job set me up for being able to work for the landscaping company during that time as well. I went to college and received my degree in education, which is what I currently do for ten months of the year. I wanted to provide more for my family so I decided to take my fifteen years of experience in the area of lawn care and put it to good use. Thus, Blair County Lawn Care was started.
