FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The single lesson rate is $30/half hour or $55/hour. The monthly rate for 30 minute lessons is $100 for 4 lessons or $125 for 5 lessons (based on $25/lesson). The rate for 60 minute lessons is $160 for 4 lessons or $200 for 5 lessons (based on $40/lesson). I do offer discounts for families as well. There is a $7.50 monthly discount for each student (total $15 discount between 2 students). Services included in my pricing are your lessons, 24/7 email or cell phone availability (I have an open door policy with my students), access to my password protected 'Student Resources' page on my website with online lessons and materials, and electronic bill pay.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I usually like to have a short call before our first lesson to determine your goals for the lessons. During this call, I may recommend a book to purchase if I feel that there is one specific book that will better serve your needs. However, some materials that I give during lessons come from outside sources as well - these are provided by me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Bachelors of Music in Music Education, a Bachelors of Music in Music Performance (guitar), and a Masters of Music in Music Performance (guitar). Currently, I am pursuing my doctoral degree in guitar at Johns Hopkins University.
