FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am as fair as humanly possible when it come to pricing for my services. For lawn maintenance, factors that play a role in pricing include, size and scope of your property, obstacles (is your property flat with few obstacles or does it have hills, trees, excessive planting beds, ornaments/decorations), and how much trimming and blowing there will be. Do I cut your lawn in the early morning when there is dew and moisture present or in the afternoon when its more dry and easier to work with? These factors play a role in how long and difficult it will be and, therefore, how your expenditures will be affected. For landscaping services, you might see expenditures such as delivery fees (for mulch dirt, sand, and stone), dumping fees (debris that I remove from your property), and fees for time spent picking out the perfect plants at nurseries for your project.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
No formal training such as a landscaping degree but over 10 years of experience at this point in working with and for other companies and on my own.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I look back on it, my interest in what I call "land care" developed at a young age. My father had a bit of a green thumb and was often tinkering with things in our yard. He would give me chores like cutting the grass, weeding or other monotonous jobs that a young child typically dreads. But I realized later in life that it was the foundation of a talent and hobby I enjoyed. In my late 20's I started working for someone with a landscaping business and found it to be exciting and very interesting. I was always asking questions and jumped at the chance to work more.
