Hi! My name is Emily and I'm so happy you're here. :) If interested in booking a session, I can also be reached through my website.
I've been a portrait photographer since 2018. I serve clients across the Lehigh Valley, Poconos, and Philadelphia regions of Pennsylvania, but will travel anywhere! I specialize in family and child, maternity and newborn, couples and engagement, and senior and graduation photography.
My mission as a photographer is to help you celebrate and connect with your humanness. To do so, I center my approach and style around the following principles:

Emily was amazing!!! She was so accommodating to our schedule. She met up with us during a hurricane to get our maternity shots. Thank goodness she did because just 6 days later I had the baby! Her work was beautiful and made me cherish the photos of my wife and I during our first pregnancy. I would not only recommend her to people, but would also rehire again.

We decided to have our first family photoshoot with our 7 month old daughter. I didn’t know what to expect but when we arrived at the location, Emily made us feel right at ease. She guided us but also gave us the space to just be in the natural setting. The pictures are beautiful and artistic which is exactly what we wanted. We were so impressed with Emily’s work and professionalism, and would not hesitate to recommend her to our friends and family.

The Small Narrative (Emily) is such an amazing photographer and I highly recommend her to anyone who needs family photos done! This was our first time getting a photographer for our own little family and Emily was professional from start to finish. She was extremely responsive and thorough in her responses when I was considering hiring her. She sends very helpful info even before the shoot (location directions, what to wear, what to expect, etc.) and during the shoot she made all of us feel at ease. She edited the photos exactly to my liking and we are so blown away she was able to capture such beautiful images even with our 13 month old being difficult for most of the shoot. Emily provided over 150 beautiful images for us to choose from and really took her time with us the day of the shoot. Exceptional value for the Lehigh Valley. I would hire her now while you still can!

Emily came to our home and took photos of my family for my daughters first birthday. She was very respectful, knowledgeable and remembered everything that was written in the questionnaire she sent before the shoot. She captured my family beautifully and we came out with 400 beautifully edited photos that we can remember us how we were together for my daughters first birthday forever !

She has captured some of my most cherished family photos from my 10 day old daughter smiling in her sleep to my 6 year old and her dad in a giggling embrace. Emily gives direction when necessary but more importantly makes art out of the ordinary! Her easy going attitude puts you at ease, allowing the true essence of the family to be captured. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing and package information can be viewed on my website under Services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When you reach out, I'll open the floor to any questions or concerns you'd like to address. I'll also ask general get-to-know-you questions and inquire about your vision for the shoot. We'll also go over pricing and packages.
Should you decide to book with me, we’ll choose a date and time, and then I’ll have you pay a deposit to secure the date.
Once the deposit is paid, I’ll send my guide containing information on what to expect in hiring me and how to plan and prepare for a session with me. This is when we’ll discuss location, styling, and more. I’ll also send a questionnaire to help me get to know you more deeply and ensure our session is tailored to your unique story.
About a week before the session, I'll reach back out to confirm the shoot, go over some general need-to-know information, and open the floor again to questions and/or concerns from you.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Aside from taking a digital photography course in college, I am a self-taught photographer. I've learned through books, online tutorials, engaging with other photographers, and lots of practice. Though it's unrelated to my work in photography, I also hold a bachelor's degree in English Literature from Rutgers University.
