Introduction: We like to cater to each clients personal goals in their equine adventure or journey. We thrive in a relaxing atmosphere and give you the personal attention you need while practicing and teaching all safety and educational needs. We hope you enjoy your time with us and learn alot while having fun! This work is one of the most fulfilling things we could ever imagine in the horse industry. Without continuously educating others this sport would die. Not only do we get to work with great people but most of the horses used are retrained rescues (from our sister non profit organization Prairie Fire Farms) that whole heartedly deserve their second chance. A portion of each lesson is donated back to the non profit to help aid in the care of these wonderful horses!

Excellent communication. Quick appointment time. Went to meet, and tour facility. Very attractive physical setting of classic stables and riding rings in the country, with blue ridge in background, not far from racetrack, and short drive from Harrisburg. Excellent approach to teaching riding through getting to know the horses. Variety of breeds to gain familiarity and comfort with all types of horses with mission of horse rescue. We had 1st lesson, up and riding safely in the ring, English saddle. Plan of instruction will include western and bareback to gain broad equestrian abilities.

Whoa is a professionally run organization with trainers who are top notch professionals who truly care about the needs of the horses and riders. I've been in the Whoa lesson program with Emily as my trainer and she is awesome! Emily has an uncanny knack for understanding the needs and mind-set of both horse and rider; she is great at clearly articulating what needs to be adjusted to ensure the two work as a team while helping to build confidence and keeping it fun and safe. Since the horses are also part of a non-profit program that Emily also directs to re-home off-the-track thoroughbreds and other breeds in need, it's a bonus that I've been able to get involved in that as well though the initial contact with Whoa. I'm so happy that I found Whoa through Thumbtack!

Emily is a very dedicated horse women. She is a trainer, riding instructor, and horse rescuer. She shares her ideas and give excellent feedback on your riding. Very knowledgeable about horses and has even taught me some horse first aid. I have a young horse and will look to her to guide me on training of my mare.

Our pricing varies from the instructor you choose and whether you would like on site or off site training and lessons. When you contact us we can give any prices you need.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When meeting a new customer, we usually talk extensively over phone or email to get an idea of what that client is looking for. We give each client the opportunity to come out and meet us or we go to the client to meet them and their horse if they have that need. Then we plan a schedule to start to meet those needs
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
WHOA instructors have many different levels of experience and have been in almost every discipline of the horse world and are willing to teach on any level.
