FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
If they are not relaxed and willing to spend some time getting to know you and your animal and how the two of you interact with each other... keep looking. Good training is not a QUICK FIX situation. If the trainer doesn't take time to SEE what maybe going on, how can they help you and your animal overcome the challenges?
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
There are many trainers "out there" who will use negative or aversion training, while claiming to be using positive reinforcement. Always remember that YOU are the first and last line of defense to protecting your dog or horse from poor training methods. YOU are paying for help and you have a right to have information given to you that is clear and makes good sense to you. No one should be using methods on you or your animal that cause you to feel uncomfortable or that your animal is being harmed. I don't care who the trainer is or how much experience they have. Being told, "Because I say so." Is NEVER an acceptable response.
