Introduction: I am trained in 3 O-G programs to assist Dyslexia students. I also have 3 years of experience working with AD/HD students who also happened to be dyslexic, and tailoring the programs to their diverse needs. I love to reward the children with fun activities and science projects. I love hearing the kids say, " I never thought that I would be able to read." and " School is much easier since I have been coming to tutoring." Making a difference in these childrens' lives is by far the most rewarding aspect of my job.

I needed help with writing and editing my papers for college. So what we had decided worked best for my situation since we are not exactly close was that I emailed papers to him. He would revise them and use some commenting thing in Word to mark what Nic thought I needed to change. For the extremely big changes, or the really bad papers we would use a program called "Team Viewer" which in a nutshell was Skype and Remote Controller mixed. All in all before I get to long winded a good experience and I normally loath getting help from AD/HD specialists.

FAQs

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I typically receive science, math, and reading/writing tutoring jobs. I have worked with students from elementary to middle-aged adults. I also often assist with homework struggles and study skills.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Dyslexia instructors must be trained in O-G Multi-sensory practices. If your dyslexia tutor cannot explain these terms, do not hire them. Multi-sensory instruction works extremely well for all students, in all subjects. A good tutor will incorporate these practices frequently. M-S instruction is not the same as differentiated instruction- don't let teachers and tutors fool you.
