FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We offer a 10% off New Customer Discount! Jobs over 30 miles away will incur a $250 service fee to the overall price to cover fuel/wear and tear expenses for rig.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After messaging and an introductory call to discuss your needs, we'll come out for a site visit so we can put together an accurate quote. There is some work we can quote on the phone, but all custom work requires a site visit. Often, we'll ask you to send us photos of similar work that you like, and work that you don't, so we can get a sense of your style. Depending on the project, we'll send you some pictures of possibilities to choose from (for example, a photo of an iron stair railing in your own home, or a new sign outside your business), and we're ready to get started as soon as you are!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We founded Gemini Signs because producing signage was a perfect melding of the skills, education, and experience we each brought. Ed has 20+ years of welding and metalworking experience in the oil industry on pipelines and and as an insert x-ray welder. He has also worked heavily in the structural steel industry. He has a diploma from the Welder Training and Testing Institute (WTTI), and also completed two years of college-level metallurgy coursework. He also has his 6G and 6GR certifications, as well as D1 and D1-3 certs (which are structural steel and bridge code welding) and has experience in MIG and TIG welding, stick, oxyfuel, and brazing. He also has over 10 years in welding exotic metals. Andréa started designing websites over 20 years ago, and after graduating with her bachelor's degree, branched out into print design. She was the art director for Pete Seeger's "Sing Out!" magazine. She knows the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, etc) like the back of her hand, and offers clients the ability to see what she and Ed can deliver, before they begin to build. With so much time spent behind a screen, getting to be involved in the actual physical build and installation of a project has been hugely rewarding.
