Introduction: Blue Diamond DJS actually first started back in 1987 when Kelly M Gribus went to his own high school dance and was not impressed with the current DJ. He then bought a stereo system and got the idea to start deejaying his high school dances. Kelly's family has always been into music. His aunt was Marlene Cord, a singer/pianist from the 1960s. In order to pull it off, Kelly needed some help. So, he turned to his uncle Joey, who was a long time keyboard player for a band called "The Force", (Joey was also the keyboard player for the internationally known band "The Vogues", who had number one hits in the '60s including "5 o'clock world"). Together with Joey's help, Kelly played his first dance at Conneaut Valley High School on September 1, 1987. The dance was a success. By 1988, Kelly hired best friend Craig Schuler, and they started playing at three high schools. Kelly graduated in 1989 and attended Clarion University of PA majoring in Mass Communications. By 1990, Kelly was deejaying at 110 gigs per year including 20 high schools. In 1993, Kelly won the USAA Award that's given to the top 10% of college students in their field. In 1993, Kelly graduated from Clarion University with a bachelors of science degree and was hired by WKVE-FM in St Marys, PA as their overnight disc jockey. After a year, Kelly was promoted to afternoon drive time. and WKVE was the number one rated station from Niagara Falls, NY to Maryland. In November of 1995, Kelly was hired by WZPR radio in Meadville, PA. By September 1996, he was promoted to afternoon drive as "Jeff James". By 1997, Kelly had number one ratings in 15 counties across OH, NY and PA. In March of 1998, Kelly retired from radio full-time. Kelly then teamed up with long-time DJ friend Tim Penfield and John McWilliams to form Blue Diamond DJS where they continue today to play at formal events across in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and New York. In November 2008, Blue Diamond DJS opens a Las Vegas outlet. He started the company back in 1987 and has over 28 years of experience as an entertainer. He has performed and managed over 1,000 shows in his career. Kelly graduated from Clarion University in 1993 and holds two bachelors of science degrees. He has worked many years in radio and done several celebrity and concert introductions. Kelly is also the global VP of entertainment for Hot4hire. He also has spent many years working with great charities such as Make a Wish, Habitat For humanity and Muscular Dystrophy.
