I've been rehabbing houses since 1991, and Bill Maitland (M&M) is the first electrician I've hired in Pennsylvania. How did I get so lucky! He did exactly what he promised, his estimate was awesome and it didn't go up in spite of a few unforeseen issues (which he absorbed instead of charging me). He's very easy to communicate with -- phone, text, e-mail, etc. -- he's punctual, keeps me posted, and he didn't complain. As a residential rehabber, my biggest pet peeve is complaining. Bill loves the work he's doing, and it shows. He installed a new electrical service and took care of all communications with the building department. I have already hired him for my next job. Take my word for it, you'll want to do the same.
I'm a General Contractor in the Westmoreland County, PA area and would definitely hire J.L. Smith Electric for any electrical sub-contracting needs that I have in the future. He did exactly what he said he would, when he said he would, for what he said he would. You can't beat quality & honesty in a contractor!!!
I needed a light fixture installed and doorbell wasn't working. We have aluminum wiring so installing any electrical requires a professional. Josh was able to come out the same day I called which was great. It went quickly and happy with the results.
Matt Colvin did a fantastic job on my electrical issue. He responded immediately through Thumbtack. An appointment was set up for the next morning. He was punctual and professional. Knew what he was doing, very conscientious and cleaned everything up upon completion. He is a very pleasant person and wanted input from me to make sure I was satisfied throughout the job. I will contact him for any home repair, electrical or whatever in the furute. His pricing was fair and reasonable. Thanks.
We just bought a new house and are having quite a bit of work done do it, including electrical upgrades. Tom was hands-down the most responsive contractor with whom we have worked. He was the first to call on our Thumbtack post and kept us informed of every step of the work that was done. He also knows what he's talking about and was able to find effective solutions to meeting our electrical needs, which impressed my husband (who worked for an electrical contractor for years). Highly recommended.
Upgraded our electrical panel to 150 amp and installed 240 line for Nissan Leaf car charger.
Brian installed a new 200 amp service, grounded it, replaced all the switches and receptacles in the house, installed a 30 amp receptacle for a dryer, installed several new switches, and installed a new light fixture in the bathroom. Brian's work is absolutely excellent. He is a perfectionist, and definitely who you want to hire if you want the job done to the highest possible standard. He stuck to his quote and is a fun guy to work with. The only thing is that he wasn't able to finish some of the work on our schedule. We were pressed for time and had to delay a lot of work because the electrical wasn't done. I think he is just busy. Like they say "if you want it fast, it won't be priced right or well done." Brian's work is absolutely well done and priced right, but I don't think he likes to do rush jobs. Definitely would recommend to everyone.
Very pleased with the work quality and timing of the job as well as the price - I will call Bill first on any home repair/upgrade project I have going forward.
I recently renovated a bathroom and had switched the location of the toilet and vanity. This meant I needed new electrical run for vanity lights and some switches changed to GFCI which can be tricky in an older house. Jordan was willing to come out and look at the project and provide suggestions on how to tackle this. A few days later the work started and he explained everything and answered all the questions I was asking about how and why things were being done. One issue with the electrical needed some troubleshooting but he was able to figure it out and in the end everything worked out great. Highly recommended! I'll definitely be contacting McIntyre again for future projects. Very professional.
Mike updated my main electrical service, installing a 200 amp line to match my breaker panel and replace a fraying 100 amp cable. The job was overly complicated due to a tile roof, and the location of the line anchor and meter. Mike completed the job well with the only hitch being a small measurement issue which was resolved with only minor headache.
I had retained James Boden Electric to install ceiling fan. He is fast, efficient and amazing pricing. His scheduling works around a person that works daytime hours and is flexible with scheduling.
John and his helper were very professional, clean, and efficient. They upgraded my electric panel at a reasonable cost. I would recommend them to anyone and I will be having them wire in my hot tub this fall!
I had Ross Electric upgrade my panel and service to 200amp. Tony was wonderful to work with. He even fixed other things that wrong while he was there. Very respectful and responsive. I would recommend Ross Electric to anyone.
Had a house wired and a new electrical panel installed. This is a company that puts its customers first and focuses on doing thing the right way. Excellent customer service and total integrity in all that they do. I recommend them to all of our friends without hesitation.
The old fuse box in my home finally gave out a few days ago. I was concerned about the big upgrade job to a compliant circuit breaker panel, the associated cost and the City of Pgh. electrical code requirements. But then I found KNK Electric. They put all my concerns to rest, gave me a reasonable true estimate and I was impressed with their technical knowledge and professionalism in dealing with the customer. They quickly came to perform the service efficiently and neatly and always with an eye to reducing my inconveniences to a minimum. Now my electric system works perfectly and I feel so much safer (and did not break the bank). I will call KNK Electric for all my future electric service needs and will recommend them to anyone. - SummerPat
Contracted to wire garage door opener from panel box to new outlet. Superior work quality and trustworthy. Arrived on time to do the work and very professional. Will contact again for any electrical needs
As a first time home owner, doing some of the starting jobs on my house I was looking for someone who wasn't going to charge me an arm and a leg and someone who actually knew what they were doing. Mike easily checked off both of those boxes for my wife and I. Mike was extremely flexible with his times (He had to come out twice because we didn't have the fan we wanted installed the first time around) and didn't have any problem working on the weekend or doing afternoon/night work. He did everything we asked of him (Plug installations, GFCI installations, fan installations, wiring redone from previous home owners, switch installations, and probably more I'm forgetting) and he was able to do it all quickly and as I said, very reasonably priced (Doing it for hundreds cheaper than a couple other quotes I got). I really couldn't recommend Mike enough and will be calling him with all future electric requests. If you need someone who is going to do it fast, and isn't going to try and up-sell you on unnecessary upgrades (Another electrician we had come in for a quote told me I would have to upgrade my circuit breaker because it was old and outdated, it isn't even two years old) this is your guy. Also, one last thing I have to note is Mike's cleanup as this was particularly impressive, after he was done with all work he actually used a broom and swiffer to clean up all areas that he worked, my mother in law told me she thought the floor looked cleaner after he left than before he got there.
