FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I usually would prefer to look at the jobs required before I give a bid or have the customer send a detailed description and pictures if a meeting is not possible. I start my wage at 25 usually. Prices change with different jobs. for example, electrical work is more expensive due to danger and repercussions of faulty work also plumbing because repercussions again and it's easy to get into a problem. plumbing is not as easy as throwing pipes together. you have to know what pipes to use, what glues, primers, flux ,sodders to use also a knowledge of gravity and pitch for your drains. prices vary with long-term working relationships.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have completed 3 years of nccer training at the ABC apprenticeship school. that can be seen on the NCCER website.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My grandfather owned his own construction business. that's where my father learned and started this business. I have worked with my father from the age of 10 and have been doing this type of work ever since. I worked in commercial construction for a few years. I have completed training classes that you can see on the nccer website.
