FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken classes from many of the top painters in the country. I have studied with Nick Wolfe, Heather Banks, Gary Cole, Daniel Lasris, and Mark Reid. I attend conventions and also subscribe to monthly on-line classes.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
While there is not a "most common" job, some of the clients I have had in the past include face painting for birthday and holiday parties, festivals, coprorate events, company picnics cheer and dance teams and fundraisers. I love doing individual Halloween make-up too. I also have just started a new branch of my business....Prenatal Belly Painting! This will include painting of the customer and a free photo shoot. It will be a great way to remember that special time! I am in the practice phase of this and will add it to my board later this year.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
First and foremost, make sure that the artist uses quality paints and supplies. Never hire a painter that uses acrylic or craft paints. These are NOT approved for use on skin. Professional face paint is actually not paint at all, but highly pigmented make-up sepcifically made for use on skin. Ask about thier training and where they have painted before. Make sure that they are willing to create custom designs based on the theme of your event. Check their website and make sure that the designs shown on the website are actually painted by the artist. Some artist will take photos off the internet and pass them off as thier own work, when it is not an actual representation of the work YOU will recieve.
