FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I love my work and I maintain continual focus on meeting the needs of my clients. In the spirit of my Marketing education and experiences, I strive to DELIGHT my clients, to optimize value delivered. I am eager to collaborate with my clients to arrive at billing rates that are appropriate to the work I am being asked to do and any special circumstances the clients may be experiencing.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am sensitive to the fact that many leaders who have had many years of business success are reluctant to reach out for a consultant's assistance because they believe it suggests an inability to resolve their own organization's issue. Others have an expectation that a consultant will arrive with a bag of magic solutions. Neither is correct in the vast majority of engagements. From the beginning, I strive to create a constructive relationship with engagement managers and those in their organizations. I recognize that I bring valuable insights and approaches and knowledge of best practices just as engagement managers and staff bring essential knowledge about their organizations' strengths and weaknesses, processes and culture and a close-up view of the dynamics in their marketplace. I arrive to build rapport and trust and create a platform for shared expertise. It's essential that I begin my work with a clear understanding of the organization's mission, objectives and strategies. If the engagement managers and I see that those are all sound, reasonable, and durable, we can follow those as our 'North Star' for the work we set out to do. If or when we realize that adjustments might be necessary, I ensure that alternatives and associated risks are thoroughly considered, costs and benefits are quantified and evaluated, and clear action plans are fully developed. I am always mindful of the fact that a client has a fiduciary responsible to safeguard the organization's resources of time and money. Further, I never lose sight of my responsibility to ensure that any solutions that I have a hand in crafting and/or implementing are value based and sustainable, can withstand strong financial scrutiny, and are compatible with the living, breathing side of the organization - its people, its cultures, and its endless expressions of appreciation and respect.
