FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There's always learning to be done! A lot of it in this field is just keeping your eyes open, observing, watching the trends, learning the constantly updated program, learning by doing and experimenting and learning from others around you - that's why I love it!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I really just stumbled on it, I always thought I wanted to be a teacher, I went and applied for a job at a school to be a teacher's aide, straight of high school. Well, I didn't get the teaching job, but they offered for me to be the office manager, so I said eh sure I'll try it! Well over the years as I had several different positions within the organization I was able to gain some valuable graphic experience, when I moved on to my next workplace, I was the full-time graphic designer, then a few years later, I started my own freelance company, and the rest, well that's history!
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have had the opportunity to work with an organization called CANDID Cup which is a Chicago-based technology company on the forefront of thought leadership in the feedback industry. I have been involved in all of the designing of their collateral materials. He takes my graphics which I have also turned into photorealistic mockups to his clients so they can see his product in action and how it can greatly influence the feedback for their organization.
